NRD Cyber Security is nominated as ITU Centre of Excellence

NRD Cyber Security, a cybersecurity technology consulting, incident response and applied research company, has been nominated as International Telecommunication Union(ITU) Centre of Excellence (CoE) in European region for the 2019-22 cycle.

By utilising the latest developments in telecommunications, ITU is aiming to develop the technical standards that ensure networks and technologies seamlessly interconnect and strive to improve access to ICTs to underserved communities worldwide. However, with the advancement of technology, hand in hand go issues such as the speed of technology absorption or cyber security threats. Hence, constant training on technological skills and cyber resilience is required. For this purpose, ITU appoints CoEs in various regions which help to develop and improve the skills and competencies of ICT professionals worldwide. NRD Cyber Security has been named as one of the CoEs in Europe for the 2019-22 cycle. The company will be providing training courses on areas such as national cyber security governance, cyber security incident management and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT).

„It is a great honour to be selected by such a respected organisation as ITU. The appointment also serves as a proof that in Lithuania we have very competent cyber security specialists who are highly valued by the global ICT community. At NRD Cyber Security we feel very privileged to be contributing towards making Lithuania’s name even more well-known in global cyber security community. “– said NRD Cyber Security CEO Vilius Benetis

„Digital economy and cyber security are nowadays the key topics discussed by the global ICT community. Therefore, ITU made these areas the focus of 2019-22 CoE programme cycle and was looking for key experts in both fields. Not only Lithuania has a well-known and reputable community of ICT professionals, but also the country itself puts a lot of focus and effort to build cyber security capacity. Hence, it is a great pleasure to welcome Lithuania and NRD Cyber Security to ITU CoEs community. “– commented the Head of ITU Europe Office Jaroslaw Ponder.
