NRD CS membership to European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) has been approved by ECSO Board of Directors. ECSO represents the industry-led contractual counterpart to the European Commission for the implementation of the Cyber Security contractual Public-Private Partnership (cPPP). The main objective of ECSO is to support all types of initiatives or projects that aim to develop, promote, and encourage European cyber security. NRD CS is the first ECSO member from Lithuania.
“ESCO membership is in accord with our long-term strategy where NRD CS capabilities are integrated by contributing to various European and international organisations such as FIRST, Center for Internet Security, ITU-D, GFCE, Oxford Global Cyber Security Capacity Centre missions and other Securing Digital Environment initiatives. Complexity of cybersecurity discipline requires multidisciplinary, holistic integration which is best achieved through cooperation. We are glad we can bring this knowledge to Lithuania and develop PPP both here and in other countries”, commented the CEO of NRD CS Dr Vilius Benetis.
The European Commission introduced a public-private partnership on cyber security (cPPP) considering the goals set in the EU cyber security strategy and the Digital Single Market strategy. To achieve these objectives, ESCO collaborates with the European Commission and national public administrations to indorse Research and Innovation (R&I) in cybersecurity, promote and assist in the definition and realisation of European cyber security industrial policy and back the advancement and the interests of the entire cyber security and ICT security ecosystem (including education, training awareness).
