DPD data centre was transferred to Lithuania

Critical IT infrastructure company BAIP has transferred DPD data centre and business management application from Latvia to Lithuania. From now on the centralised data centre and business management system are being used by DPD units in all three Baltic States.

DPD decided to renew its critical IT infrastructure and chose Lithuania as a central location because of its well-developed data centres and related infrastructure. BAIP has won an international tender, carried out the analysis and offered a centralised data centre solution that included disaster recovery centre and ensured high availability in case of system failure. BAIP also installed IT infrastructure and migrated the business application.

“We have been maintaining DPD’s IT infrastructure for quite a while now and are very delighted that our client trusted us this important project as well. Migration process had to run very smoothly, without any interruptions to the 24 hour operations carried out in all Baltic States”, – said Mr Gytis Umantas, BAIP CEO.

Data and business management application was migrated successfully within one weekend, since then BAIP is maintaining new centralised IT infrastructure.

DPD is a leading parcel service company in Europe, delivering 2,5 million parcels a day. It is the most efficient road network in Europe that contains 800 terminals, employs 24 thousand people and owns 18 thousand vehicles that deliver parcels to 230 countries.
