Bringing stakeholders to the table – capacity building in Lesotho

Government representatives from across the public sector in Lesotho are actively engaged in knowledge sharing and capacity building sessions, related to E-Government Infrastructure Project. Two workshops for over 110 participants in total have been facilitated in Maseru by international consultants from Norway Registers Development AS that is currently assisting the Kingdom of Lesotho in strategic ICT reform planning.

The goal of the practical workshops and round-table discussions was to align the understanding of the stakeholders of the Lesotho E-Government Infrastructure Project on the capacity building needs and directions and reach consensus on the training program tracks, volumes, topics, and requirements.

In addition, a delegation from Lesotho, led by the Minister of Communications, Science and Technology (MCST) Hon. Khotso Letsatsi went on a good practice sharing and study tour to Europe – Norway and Lithuania – in January. The delegation visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Norway, met the management of the Norwegian-African Business Association, toured the Brønnøysund Register Centre in Norway, the Ministry of Transport and Communications and Telecentras in Lithuania. They also attended workshops on e-Government policy and best practices, securing digital environment, and modern architectures for service centres in rural areas.
