BAIP signed an agreement with Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid for the implementation of a data backup and recovery system. The solution is adapted on account of the development of the electricity infrastructure and prepared for implementation in two distant data centers. Contract value –201.5 thousand euros.
System is adapted to the current data center architecture of Litgrid. It will be implemented through two data centers located 100 kilometers away from each other. High capacity, reliable and easily scalable system will secure data and information from loss or damage in different security sub-levels and ensure data recovery in case of an emergency.
„The Client chose a reliable, flexible solution and data recovery environment that fulfills all, including prompt response in case of an incident, requirements and complies with the business continuity plan. In a case of the system disruption, BAIP solution will ensure data backup of at least last 2 hours and recovery of the system within 4 hours“, – said Gytis Umantas, CEO of BAIP.
„Our main task is to transmit power 24 hours a day across Lithuania. Every day tens of thousands of signals are transferred to our data centers from high voltage electricity equipment managed remotely. Seeking to maintain a stable national electricity system we devote a special attention to continuous work of IT systems, data integration, security and recovery“, – commented Valdas Merčaitis, Head of Information and communication technologies center of Litgrid.
